Whole Body MRI

Category Whole Body MRI

A whole-body MRI scan looks at the body from head to toe in order to find cancers, inflammation or obstructive processes in the body. The exam in the head will reveal masses of the brain, shrinkage, old strokes, sinuses and nasal cavities. Anomalies in the lymph nodes, thyroid masses, or cervical spine arthritis may be found in the neck. We monitor the heart for enlargement in the chest and the aorta for aneurysms. We may assess the kidneys, liver , spleen, adrenal glands, gallbladder (gallstones), pancreas, bladder, uterus and ovaries before heading to the abdomen and pelvis. We look at the spine to scan for herniation of the disc and spinal stenosis; and arthritis in the joints of the extremities.
